This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies Properly uses, why we use them, and how you can manage your preferences. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.

What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Under the EU ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC, as amended) and the GDPR (EU 2016/679), we are required to obtain your consent before placing non-essential cookies or similar storage technologies on your device. "Similar technologies" includes browser localStorage, sessionStorage, and device fingerprinting.
Strictly necessary cookies and storage are exempt from the consent requirement because they are technically essential to deliver a service you have explicitly requested.
Cookies and storage we use
The following table lists every cookie or browser storage item set by Properly.
| Name | Category | Purpose | Storage type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| JSESSIONID | Strictly Necessary | Maintains your authenticated session on the server, allowing you to stay logged in while navigating the platform. | HTTP Cookie | Session (deleted when browser closes) |
| properly_cookie_consent | Strictly Necessary | Stores your cookie category preferences (essential, analytics), the timestamp of your last choice, and the version of our Privacy Policy you were shown. Required to avoid showing the consent banner on every page load. | localStorage | Up to 24 months |
We do not use any third-party cookies. Our service providers (Stripe, AWS, Google Maps, Zoho) may set their own cookies when their services are used — please refer to their respective privacy and cookie policies linked in our Privacy Policy.
What we do not do
To be explicit, Properly does not:
- Display advertising
- Use marketing, targeting, or retargeting cookies
- Track users across other websites or apps
- Build advertising or behavioural profiles
- Share cookie data with ad networks or data brokers
- Sell personal data
Managing cookies through your browser
In addition to using the preferences panel above, you can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to view, delete, and block cookies. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will impair or prevent access to Properly.
Clearing your browser's localStorage will remove your saved consent preferences, and you will be asked for consent again on your next visit.
Your rights
Under the GDPR and ePrivacy Directive you have the right to withdraw consent to non-essential cookies at any time using the preferences panel above. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of any processing that took place while consent was active.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint about our use of cookies with the Data Protection Commission (Ireland):

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, legal requirements, or our practices. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and display a notice on the platform. Where a change affects cookies that require consent, we will ask for your consent again.
